Dr. Joanne Simpson

A board-certified dermatologist and New York native, Dr. Joanne Simpson received her medical degree (M.D.) from the Wake Forest University School of Medicine and completed her dermatology training at the University of Pittsburgh. She also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) from Duke University as well as a Master of Public Health (MPH) from The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where she pursued an interest in clinical research and epidemiology.

Dr. Simpson is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, National Medical Association, and North Carolina Dermatology Association and currently resides in the Charlotte, North Carolina suburbs.

Dr. Simpson enjoys practicing all aspects of dermatology, with particular interest in skin cancer screening, acne, eczema, and skin of color.  Educating her patients about how to become their own best skin health advocate is her passion. She is also a skilled cosmetic dermatologist with expertise and certification in performing non-invasive cosmetic procedures.

Dr. Simpson performs online (virtual) visits through the Dermatologist On Call platform. The online dermatology practice allows Dr. Simpson to care for patients beyond the reach of her geographic area. She is currently licensed in NC, SC, VA, MD, and Washington, DC for those patients who are unable to be seen in person for their dermatology needs.

Outside of the office, Dr. Simpson enjoys trying new recipes, boating and sailing, traveling, playing tennis, and spending time with her family.
