Leg Vein Sclero-therapy
Sclerotherapy uses injection of a solution into a superficial and medium-sized leg veins to damage the lining of the vessel, thereby causing the vein to close. The procedure is done in-office. A typical treatment session lasts about 20 minutes, however several treatments may be needed depending on the extent of varicosities present. Mild burning or discomfort may occur, which is mitigated by the localized use of ice packs. Compression stocking use is strongly encouraged following the treatment for 3-4 days and is worn only during the day and removed at bedtime. Results are seen as early as three weeks after treatment.
